Just wondering if this will be the place to discuss XC again this year. Nobody's on the boards yet.

Well, I'll start with some quick team predictions in the divisions I'm most familiar with, the Class A and B boys. Class B This seems really wide open with Parker obviously taking a big hit. I wouldn't make a pick right now, but I think it will come down to Ipswich, Great Plains, Parker, and Phillip. Class A Looks to me like it will be Custer or CEB. I could be wrong though.

Got to see Bisons 8th grader Berkhaulter at Faith last week. He buryed the fiels early and sprinted the last 1/4 plus. This kid is for real, he is mid-late year condition now. Oh ya 3 min front of #2!!

I agree it looks like Class B boys is wide open as most of the top 5 teams, Parker, Ipswich, GPL, Philip and Dells St. Marys all have 2 solid runners so it depends on whos 3rd runner steps up. At the McCook meet with 95 runners and 19 full teams a mix of B and A Wessingtons Jase Kraft looked very solid going under 16 minutes.

I was going to mention that I should probably mention Dell Rapids St. Mary's as a contender in Class B. Aberdeen Christian also looks like they could be in contention. We'll see if a favorite has emerged by state. I totally agree, though, it'll all come down to the 3rd runner.

My top 5 would probably be this. 1. Parker 2. Ipswich 3. Ab Christian 4. Great Plains 5. Dell Rapids

I saw a result from some teams up north from Monday this week and it does look like Ab Chr is going to be in the mix, no team pts kept their. Any results from out West yet?? Back to the McCook meet the reason I mentioned Dells in the mix is with all those runners and teams it was very tight between them and Parker finishing 3rd and 4th respectively and their pts were 52 and 53. The top 2 runners from each team in that meet were dells - 5 and 16 and Parkers 6 and 10 so the difference was the 3rd guy. I believe we will see it that close in RC only with about 3 more teams involved

Elton-Lake Benton managed to stay under the radar, but now they have emerged, they are starting to make a name for themselves.

Right now my pick to win the Boys B individual title has to go out to the 8th grader from Bison, Daniel Burkhalter. As for the B girls, Laura Nelson of Gayville-Volin.
