. The course at Aimes is tough…extremely tough. College teams will not run there because of how difficult the course is. The winner ran only 15:52. At Huron, I would guess that the time would have been in the mid to lower 15:00 range. Much faster than DeHaven’s time (I thought Addison coasted the last 1000 meters of that race). Where would that put Schroeder?
I agree that this Shroeder is talented and has been running well as of late, but your analysis of the two courses is off to say the least. Check out last years results from the Heartland Classic.
1. Josh Thorson, Wayzata (Minn.) 15:31
2. Josh Evans, Linn-Mar 15:44
3. Ben Anderson, WDM Valley 15:52
4. Danny Aldaba, Fremont (Neb.) 15:55
5. Cole Decker, Dowling 16:00
6. Connor Olson, Wayzata (Minn.) 16:02
7. Mohamed Hamden, Lincoln (Neb.) 16:12
8. Zach Buchheit, Pella 16:17
9. Jacob Aune, Prairie 16:18
10. Shannon Hall, Liberty (Mo.) 16:19
11. Kirk Bado, Shawnee Mission (Kan.) 16:22
12. Mitch Pritts, Prairie 16:25
13. Scott Leonard, Shawnee Mission (Kan.) 16:25
14. Arturo Garcia, Fremont (Neb.) 16:25
15. Ryan Cox, Millard (Neb.) 16:26
Now Josh Thorson ran 15.37 at NXN Heartland Regional.
Addison DeHaven ran 15.35 on the same course at his state meet. Earlier that year Addison ran 16.01 on the Huron course.
Obviously weather will play a factor into these times. (Its the Midwest) Now I'd say Kyle Burdick's time probably translates into a sub 16on the Roosevelt course.
Yes Nate Shroeder is good. Would he have been anywhere close to Addison at Huron? Probably not. Would he have "owned" Kyle? I'd say no to that too. Kyle seems to run much better on a track type situation. (not too hilly, time trial situations) Kyle Burdick is right now the Number 3 runner in South Dakota but that big meet in October is run at that Huron course.
