When you look at the times for last year for the 1600 and the 3200 and watching these kids run for the last few years these are my thoughts.

Kraft - WS - (10th) 4:30.11 7. DeHaven - Brk - (10th) 4:30.72 8. Lends His Horse - CEB (12th) 4:32.50 9. Jongeling - Prkr - (11th) 4:33.08 10. Burdick - RCS - (10th) 4:34.64
- 3200 - 1. Smoragiewics - RCC - (12th) 9:35.07 2. Ahrendt - RHS - (11th) 9:37.03 3. Kinsely - Yank - (12th) 9:41.36 5. DeHaven - Brk - (10th) 9:42.63 6. Burdick - RCS - (10th) 9:42.82 7. The last analysis looks pretty accurate.
Any thoughts on newcomers who will blast onto the scene this Spring?
Out here, I think Simmons will have another great season (he's just a freshman this year, remember). Stevens has a really good group of young guys, but outside of Kyle Burdick, it's not likely they will be able to contribute this season at the state level. Central doesn't seem to have a younger set of guys. Girls are another story, as their cross country group was amazing.
And Sturgis is always dangerous, as Scott Peterson is one of the best distance coaches in the state.

Not that it matters, but you are missing some runners from the 1600. Schultz from BV ran 4:25 low at the state meet and Howard Wood Dakota relays. That would be 3rd on your lists. Also, another BV athlete ran 4:32 at Howard Wood Dakota relays and 4:34 at the state meet which would be 9th on the list. Brandon Valley has been 2nd, 2nd, and 3rd the last three years in AA cross country...they must have some decent runners. Also, Lincoln was 2nd in the state in cross country meet and their best runners were 9th graders. Lauer and Schroeder might surprise some people in Track.

Wasn't Kinseley's meet this weekend; Sanders was back a ways; Tabbert moves up to #5; Ahrend @ #4, but that's just based on this weekend. Lends His Horse (BHSU) is a beast. Probably move Brother of All to the Top 10, too. Kid is tough as nails.

1, 2 & 3 is right. BTW, where did Burdick come from? 4 is tied between Tabbert and Ahrend. Tabbert was #3 for 3200 and only ran one 1600 all season, Ahrend had an amazing 1600 time 3 weeks ago... Both ran well for relays on Friday with a new record for Rosey in the 4 X 800. The next four are Kraft, Lends His Horse, Brother of All, and Kenseley hard to really say what order. The last two are really hard to say...
