Where did you get the information that these two were running in this? I'd like to see some of the other runners from across the midwest that are running.
Is this different than the MWD Gala? I thought that the guy who did the MWD Gala quit and ended the Gala?
Also, anyone know what happened to the All State meet that was supposed to be at USF this past weekend?

Addison's 2 mile run. He starts 10th from the left. He is wearing White jersy with red trim and black shorts. The video is from the perspective of Tyler Schnieder's father and Addison runs close to him for much of the race so it is a good view of Addison. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKJFDZJCKRQBen's 800. He start's in lane 4. He's dark yellow jersey and black shorts. This video is shot from the perspective of Amos Bartelsmeyer who wins the race so you don't get a good look at the finish of the 3rd through 10th place in the race. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKVFvqIvOB4

What a great accomplishment for both of these guys. A couple of great stories, too.
Ben Schultz gets overshadowed by Waddell and Smoragiewicz in the distances this season and then just destroys the 800 meters, running the #3 Mark ALL TIME.
Addison DeHaven, whom I don't think people realize HOW GOOD HE REALLY IS (because he was 2nd place three times @ the distances...runs the #4 mark ALL TIME...ahead of Jim Reinhart, Rodney DeHaven, Sub 4:00 guy Jeff Schemmel..)
What a season!

Addison DeHaven may go down as the best distance runner South Dakota has ever had. I realize that Jacob Simmons and Kyle Burdick are two very impressive young runners as well, but Addison is running faster at his age than anyone from South Dakota ever has. We also forget, that as a distance runner, he’s a capable 800 runner as well. He is only going to get stronger. He will have to stay healthy, but he could be one of the best ever to come out of South Dakota.
Ben Schultz is in the shadows of other runners because of his choice to play basketball. He is obviously a committed basketball player who earned all-state honors this past season, but it does shorten your track season to 8-10 weeks. That is about half of what the top high school runners have to work with when working toward peaking at the state meet (not to mention out of season work). To accomplish what he did during that 10-12 week time (MDF is 2 weeks after the state meet) is quite remarkable.
