Any thought on the upcomming season? Is this the place to discuss XC or is there another more active forum somewhere?

Yah, this will (?) be the place to talk xc.
Class A, Custer looks a little banged up; they probably were the favorite to win boys, but Herman is still hurt and Witt looks like he might have some nicks, too.
CEB looked good at the Douglas meet. Miss Dysan of course, but Norris is still there and Jewitt gets kids fit, so they'll be there at the end.
Madison looked super at their opener. However, they ALWAYS looks super early on (probably good summers compared to most), but then some teams catch up fitness-wise to make things exciting at state.
Lennox will be tough, as they were surpsising at the Beresford meet.
AA: Lincoln looks very salty. Went 1-2-3 at the SF meet; might be Pierre next as they looked good in their meet.
B: Parkers state meet again.
That;s the boys- who else?

Brookings looks to have a solid team. Stevens boys are the only team in the state returning there whole varsity, and add a 1024 3200m, and a pair of 444 guys. All are now sophomores.

Stevens boys were only 12th last year tho. Aberdeen Central boys looked good @ the opener- does Pierre have a 4-5 guy?

Hope Custer gets healthy. Was kind of a bummer seeing Herman struggle at state track last year. I think he would have been right with LHH and Snaza in that 3200.
Madison does have a tendency to dominate early and level off. They really do have 3 top-10 capable runners. Just need to put it together in October. They have not done that recently.
The Madison girls also have those same issues in October.
I am not bashing Madison either - I went to HS there (years ago). It happens every year, makes you wonder what they are doing wrong.

Class A
Lennox looks like they might be able to take one of the top 4 places with quite a few runners under 18 minutes
Custer with witt and herman should be the favorite.
CEB should be able to field a very good team for the state meet
Madison all key runners returning from last year with a 3rd place finish

CEB looked very tough last weekend in Aberdeen. Their 1-4 spread was 1:03. Not great, but not bad. Season is young.
Looks like CEB has a drop-off after #4 so they will need to stay healthy.

CEB will be strong again, Seven Annis should be ready to go by September 13th and make the team stronger!!! looking forward to the state meet and see how it plays out!!!! Annis was sidelined by an injury the last half of the season last year but has since made a full recovery.

Norris beat Custer's runner's at the Spearfish meet last thursday with the exception of Herman not running, different courses give different times, Aberdeens was flat and Spearfish had some small hills in it.

September 6th, Custer was ahead of Cheyenne Eagle Butte at the Custer meet by 4 points, Custer's Herman didn't run, and CEB's Annis was his first meet back and placed around 18th, expect him to move up in the placings over the next couple of weeks. The Rapid City Invite will be another meet that they will meet head to head. It's fun and exciting to watch all the runners!!!!

The Parker boys are a power house! Any chance of them getting upset now that Irene-Wakonda fell apart?
