Currently, SD ranks 34th among 51 in Dyestat/ESPN Rise National Elites. Here are the SD National Elites and with the standard for National Elites:
Discus – Boys 175’ Girls 134’-11”
Currently, Daniel Roberts of Mobridge/Pollock and Tyler Schultz of Custer are our only two national elites on the boys side. Cera Ledbetter of Sioux Falls Lincoln, Allison Koehn of Brandon Valley, and Ashley Ostrem of Beresford are national elites.
Shot Put – Boys 57’6” Girls 42’
Currently, Tyler Schultz of Custer holds the top mark in the nation at 69’ 5.75”. Other national elite include, Alex Renner of Watertown and Cole Langer of Dell Rapids. Daniel Roberts of Mobridge/Pollock is just off the mark at 57’ 1”. On the girls side, Kayla Lester of Lead –Deadwood and Danielle Waldner of Redfield/Doland are national elite throwers.
Long Jump – Boys 23’ 3” Girls 18’ 8”
Currently in the boys there are no national elite but Matt Vandeberg of Brandon Valley and Jason Greenway of Mitchell are just off the mark with 22’ 10” jumps. In the girls, Kari Heck is 10th in the nation with her leap of 19’ 11.75”. Stachia Reuwsaat from St. Thomas More and Allie Lahren of Sioux Falls Lincoln are just off national elite status with their jumps of 18’ 5.5”.
Triple Jump – Boys 48’ 0” Girls 38’ 3”
No boys has a national elite jump. Alexis Gannon of Brookings, Ashley Thompson of Rapid City Stevens, and Christensen Colette of Rapid City Central all have gone national elite distances in the Triple Jump.
High Jump – Boys 6’ 8” Girls 5’7”
Chris Parker of Sioux Falls Washington and David Mulbah have both jumped 6’8” for national elite status. Only Kelsey Kaufmann of Arlington has a national elite level jump.
Pole Vault – Boys 15’ Girls 12’
Reagan Francom of Huron is within three inches of a national elite vault. Brittany Stangl of Watertown is a national elite vaulter.
110/100 Hurdles - Boys 14.3 Girls 14.5
No boys or girls are close to being national elite.
300 Hurdles – Boys 38.4 Girls 44.6
Jason Greenway has run 38.8 and is the closest to posting a national elite time.
100 – Boys 10.6 Girls 12.0
No boys are national elite. Kari Heck of Washington has run 11.97 for national elite status.
200 – Boys 21.6 Girls 24.7
Nate Gerry of Washington is the only boy or girl to have run fast enough to be considered national elite status.
400 – Boys 48.2 Girls 56.2
Kari Heck of Washington is the only girl or boy to have run a national elite time.
800 – Boys 1:54.4 Girls 2:14.5
Alex Waddell is the only boy to have run national elite status. Ben Schultz of Brandon Valley has run 1:54.9, just off the national elite time.

Tony Smoragiewicz, Rapid City Central is currently 31st at 4:12.8. Addison DeHaven is 104th and just under national elite status. Macy Heinz a 7th grader from Ipswich is only a couple of seconds away from national elite status.
3200 – Boys 9:19.8 Girls 11:00.0
Tony Smoragiewicz and Addison DeHaven have both run national elite times.
For Relays it is difficult to figure out who the runners are, so I will be guessing on some of the names and not listing if I don't know.

Sioux Falls Washington boys (Warwick, Sannes, Carda, Waddell) have run faster than the national elite standard. Roosevelt (Ahrendt, Johnsen, Tuschen, Slaba) is within a couple tenths of being on the list.
Sprint Medley Relay Boys 3:35.0 Girls 4:15.0
Brandon Valley boys (Taggart, Grieve, Holm, Schultz) have run what would be the 16th fastest US time so far this year. There are no girls teams that have run national elite times.
