With region meets tomorrow and state just 11 days away, here are some of my predictions. Region 1B Team: Great Plains Individual: Trevor Ward, Estelline Should be a good meet between Estelline, Great Plains, Warner, and Aberdeen Christian. Region 2B Team: Dell Rapids St. Mary? Individual: This is easily the worst region in the state and I don't know much about it. Arlington and McCrossan could also be competitive. Region 3B Team: Parker Individual: Duane Jongeling, Parker This is the most stacked region in the state with Parker, Irene-Wakonda, and South Central all ranked in the last coaches poll. Parker will win like they always do. Region 4B Team: Ipswich Individual: Jase Kraft, Wessington Springs My upset pick. Wessington Springs and Higmore-Harrold don't have fast enough second and third runners to keep up with Ipswich. Region 5B Team: Dupree Individual: Austin Huether, Wall Another very good region. Philip will be very close to Dupree. I'm not as informed in Class A, but I'll take a stab at it. Region 1A Team: Aberdeen Roncalli A good region with Roncalli, Milbank, and Redfield-Doland. Roncalli beat both these team in their conference meet and should do it again. Region 2A Team: Madison Flandreau Indian and Deubrook will probably be in the second and thrid spots. Region 3A Team: Lennox I think Lennox should win this one pretty easily. Region 4A Team: Cheyenne-Eagle Butte C-EB should be a huge contender for the top spot at state. Region 5A Team: Custer As long as Herman is healthy, Custer is a very, very good team.

There are 2 teams that are unbeaten in the Girls B division. Gayville Volin and Ipswich.
Region 1 - Esteline will win but James Valley will be a close second. Charley Gross from James Valley will with the individual title.
Region 2 - will be wide open with no team that appears to be the favorite. Arlingtons Janae Sampson will outlast Mitchel Christians Becca Glanzer.
Region 3 - Gayville-Volin will win easily with Genny Clark and Laura Nelson both from Gayville-Volin going 1st and 2nd.
Region 4 - Ipswich will win easily but Potter Country has been running well lately. Macy Heinz will out kick Tori Moore for the best battle of all five regions.
Region 5 - Philip will win easily but Kadoka is used to running well at their region. Ellie Coyle will edge out teammate Holly Iwan
I agree with the boys divisions except for region 1B. Warner will win with Aberdeen Christian 2nd and Great Plains a close 3rd. If Esteline finds a 3rd runner they could be good as well.

Does anyone think Rapid City Central Girls can be beat at this point? I see Propst from Pierre had an average race at ESD. Did she just have a bad race or is there an injury she is dealing with?
Garretson Girls are really running well! I think they will be the team to beat at state for the girls A title.
Does anyone have predictions for all the A regions boys and girls?

Not sure what I was thinking when I said Ward would win region 1. That will be Donnie Decker from JVC. And I stand corrected on Region 5. I suppose Buckhalter will win. I had no idea there was a sub-17 7th grader out there. I wonder how many state championships that kid will end up winning.

Parker boys looked great today at the region meet. I think they are untouchable. Genny Clark from Gayville Volin ran unbelievable and ran away from the field. She should be the favorite to win the state meet if she runs that good next week.

All you need is 3 runners in Class B. Hate that.

You can't really compare times from runners on different courses. Parker should win in a landslide.

I still think that the Parker will win the meet, but if they were to lose, I don't think it would be as massive of an upset as everyone would make it out to be.
